Satisfaction Evaluation of Rural Human Settlements in Northwest China: Method and Application

Rural human settlements are an integral part of a rural system. The evaluation public feedback based on farmers’ satisfaction is crucial way to understand the current situation settlements. This paper establishes framework evaluate local dwellers’ towards environment in northwest China from six dimensions involving living conditions, environment, physical infrastructure, service, governance, and culture. empirical study was conducted Yanchi County, which demonstrates applicability this evaluating method. shows that overall degree relatively high, with figure 77.38. However, scores for uneven, there significant differences between villages. Further, these villages can be divided into three types according residents’ satisfaction, viable strategies suggested correspondingly. To sustain settlement development, authors argue more efforts should put technology advancement, participation incentives, subsequent maintenance projects long run.
